According to Taiwan Blood Foundation reports, blood donation had dropped dramatically due to the outbreak of COVID-19 started in May 2021, however, the demand for blood in hospital has not decreased. To adhere with CHC Healthcare Group’s philosophy “Take from society, give back to society”, CHC hosted a blood donation event in September and to support the national blood bank.
For the past years, CHC Healthcare Group actively participates in social welfare such as regular free clinics in rural area and make donations to NGOs and charity institutions. With the purpose of offering systemic and efficient supports to the society, CHC has found a charity foundation named CHC charity foundation in late 2021, with [Accountability, Seeding, and Sustainability] as core mission. By hosting charitable activities, such as blood donation event, CHC hope to provide resources and direct assistance to the most vulnerable people. Peter Lee, vice chairman of CHC Healthcare Group and CEO of CHC charity foundation pointed out, finding a balance between corporate expansions and to create a cycle of good will to give back to society is challenging, but CHC adheres to continue this journey. The blood donation event is just the beginning. We believe via all kind of charity events CHC will make a positive impact and spreading love to the society.
Due to the recent COVID-19 cases increased in Taiwan, we had created an online station-to-station call system that allows donors to register online to avoid large crowd of people onsite, and preventing the spread of the COVID-19 among donors. That has helped attract more people to the event. This year again, CHC invited surrounding companies including Shing Great Jungle Home Appliance, Long-Der Motors Co., Ltd., Taipei, Flytech Technology, Taiwan Shin Kong Security, Fortune Information Systems, and Nan-Neihu Branch of Hua Nan Commercial Bank to join the event and provide substantial support to prepare special gifts and snack boxes from the Sheltered Workshop to donors.
It was a successful event that raised over 300 bags of blood, CHC expresses gratitude to all donors for their generous contribution to the national blood bank and hopes that more people will join next time for a greater contribution to the society.
